Painting calligraphic-style, incorporating pods and seeds from the natural world into her work, she expresses in simple strokes a life both optimistic and rooted in a long cultural history, with composition intended to remove the clutter and offer a sweeping line of focus. Lee directs our attention to details that are all too easy to overlook.
