lots of driving,
quick dips here n there as it gets hot
sunset at west end of island
dinner at sam choy
back to YKK
hotel moana surfrider for drinks
and there saw the ocean ate the moon!

this isn't a very good foto of the final encaustics but it'll hv to do for now. maybe i can ask jimmy to take a studio foto o it when i hang it up at the SOPA gallery for the may 9th show in south pas. it's quite large but i'm liking it quite a bit now. it's growing on me. wax is a very free-flowing technique. many unexpected things come about unplanned. u hv to b flexible with it. n ths i like very much. cuz its like me n ths life in the world. last summer, b4 block island, i wnt to visit a frnd i met dancing at Eden (now closed) in TPE. montreal's name came from mont real. the "mountain" is really a "hill" but, it's quite a view from the top o tht "hill" anyway. i love ths foto he took of my flying hair, dancing at the drum circle on sundays. look at how tan i was! winter in pdx has really lightened up my clr. will hv to fix tht soon. but o it was such a fun weekend of dancing, from drum circles to outdoor rave to heart dancin...

2020 in the rear view mirror

 Since the Covid Pandemic shut down of 3/2020, most of us have had a big shift in life. We’ve definitely have to adapt to living differently. SF became eerily quiet. The world came to a standstill. When shelter in place and work from home happened last year, we had just adopted an 8 week old puppy from Family Dog rescue. It was a lot to deal with because our cat took an immediate dislike. The 4 of us crammed into our tiny 1 bedroom condo was just too much stress, especially since we didn’t know the first things about raising such a young puppy. After a few weeks of me hiding in the closet to think while Kirk’s on constant zoom meetings, and out cat only comes out at night, which means no sleep for me, I’ve had it. Solution? We packed up and drove to my dad’s vacation house in the desert.  The freeway was empty of cars except for trucks. Bathrooms at res tops and gas stations or anywhere along the way were all shut down. today

i spent yesterday in Magic Mountain, riding roller coasters! all to celebrate Kazumi's 31st birthday. so fun! except the only things is the head gets knocked around quite a bit. my frnd Matthias mentioned that he can feel he's getting older cuz after a whole day of such extreme treatment to the body, he was beginning to feel a little nauseated. i guess we r all gettin a little older... but not too much wiser. well, i wish i m just turning 31 too! and they'r complaining. i'll b 35 soon myself! does this mean no more partying? michael asked me arn't i too old to b raving n such? i'm beginning to feel i m, but i love dancing so much, wht do u do then? swtch to ball room dance? no way! age is such a weird thing. my dad said tonite tht since the passing of my grandpa, he's now the oldest of the family. becuz of tht, he suddenly feels very old. tht is very heartfelt n sad thought. to c him feel old... no one wants to feel the mortality of their parents, n...
