monday, returning to city life.

this monday is day off (labor day) for everyone. a lazy day to get ourselves back into the city mode. even tho i don't live here and don't hv the workday drag, i can still feel it thru my friends. and well, reality check, i still hv to start working on both fronts. nyc + tpe.
so we spent the afternoon hanging out. had late late lunch and wnt to the riverside park, i had not realized it can b this beautiful like this here. it doesn't even look like being in the city! love it. very impressed by the outdoor restaurant here as well. it has a full sized kitchen. def a place to come back to. only wish i hv a bike like the velov in paris or lyon.


afterwards, it's snack at the famous hotdog place. tho i do prefer hotdog w/relish instead tho, cuz then ketchup is better combo and i do love ketchup.

it's been a while since i've posted any work here... well, i've not been doing too much new work. it's been very slow. maybe i've just been preoccupied, or just incubating? not sure which is which. maybe i feel as if the lines has to change for some reason? i kno it doesn't really. but what i'm seeing n experiencing, being in new town, with so many new things around me to observer, absorb, collect n regroup. it's starting to take some shape, i think. still don't kno wher ths is going just yet. i'm just glad it's moving. i was worried tht i've no longer got anything to create. tht my lines r old n farty now. maybe it is. i'm not sure, but so far, i'm liking it. ok, so now i wanna talk about 2 artists tht i'm fascinated by recently. one is Aubrey Bearsey from over 100 yrs ago. a very young artist who only made BW work n died at the young age o 25. he was illustrating literatures n myths. i've chanced by his poster in an exh...

today

i spent yesterday in Magic Mountain, riding roller coasters! all to celebrate Kazumi's 31st birthday. so fun! except the only things is the head gets knocked around quite a bit. my frnd Matthias mentioned that he can feel he's getting older cuz after a whole day of such extreme treatment to the body, he was beginning to feel a little nauseated. i guess we r all gettin a little older... but not too much wiser. well, i wish i m just turning 31 too! and they'r complaining. i'll b 35 soon myself! does this mean no more partying? michael asked me arn't i too old to b raving n such? i'm beginning to feel i m, but i love dancing so much, wht do u do then? swtch to ball room dance? no way! age is such a weird thing. my dad said tonite tht since the passing of my grandpa, he's now the oldest of the family. becuz of tht, he suddenly feels very old. tht is very heartfelt n sad thought. to c him feel old... no one wants to feel the mortality of their parents, n...
